SSC GD Constable Recruitment 2026
Staff Selection Commission(SSC) released notification for the recruitment of 25,487 Constable (General Duty) under BSF, CISF, CRPF, SSB, ITBP, AR, and SSF posts. Starting date of application is from 1st December 2025 and last date to apply is 31st December 2025. The selection process includes a Computer Based Test (CBT), followed by Physical Efficiency & Standard Tests (PET/PST), and then Medical & Document Verification stages. | Recognition Criteria | The qualification must be from a board or institution recognized by the Government of India or any State/UT Board. |
| Computer Based Examination (CBE) | The written exam will be conducted online and will consist of 80 objective-type questions for 160 marks. Each question carries 2 marks, and there will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. Duration: 60 minutes. |
| Subjects and Marks Distribution | General Intelligence & Reasoning — 20 questions (40 marks); General Knowledge & General Awareness — 20 questions (40 marks); Elementary Mathematics — 20 questions (40 marks); English/Hindi — 20 questions (40 marks). |
| Physical Efficiency Test (PET) | Male: 5 km race in 24 minutes (Ladakh region — 1.6 km in 7 minutes); Female: 1.6 km in 8½ minutes (Ladakh region — 800 meters in 5 minutes). |
| Physical Standard Test (PST) | Measurement of height, chest (for males), and weight as per prescribed standards. Candidates who do not meet standards will be disqualified. |
| Medical Examination | Candidates qualifying PET/PST will undergo a Detailed Medical Examination (DME) to assess fitness as per SSC guidelines before final selection. |
