Western Railway has released the RRB Western Railway Sports Quota Recruitment 2026-27 notification for eligible sportspersons seeking a career in Indian Railways. Candidates must be Indian citizens, satisfy the prescribed age and educational qualification requirements, and possess the required recognized sports achievements for the relevant Pay Level. Minimum age is 18 years and maximum age is 25 years as on 01.01.2027. Sports achievements must generally have been obtained from 01.04.2024 to the date of notification.

There is no conventional written examination. Eligible candidates are called for Selection Trials. Trial assessment consists of Game Skill, Physical Fitness and Coach's Observation for 40 marks. Candidates securing at least 25 out of 40 in the trial are assessed further. Final selection is based on Sports Achievement (50 marks), Trial performance (40 marks) and Educational Qualification (10 marks), totaling 100 marks.

Western Railway has notified 64 Sports Quota vacancies for 2026-27, comprising 5 posts in Level 5/4, 16 posts in Level 3/2 and 43 posts in Level 1 across various sports disciplines and events.

Selected candidates will receive the minimum pay of the applicable 7th CPC Pay Level plus admissible allowances. Level 5 carries ₹29,200–₹92,300, Level 4 ₹25,500–₹81,100, Level 3 ₹21,700–₹69,100, Level 2 ₹19,900–₹63,200 and Level 1 ₹18,000–₹56,900.
