SBI Probationary Officer Recruitment 2026

Candidates must possess Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government. Final year or final semester students may also apply provisionally provided they produce proof of passing graduation on or before 30 September 2026. The age of candidates should be between 21 and 30 years as on 01 April 2026. Candidates possessing qualifications such as Engineering, Medical, Chartered Accountant and Cost Accountant are also eligible.

The SBI PO Recruitment 2026 selection process consists of three phases. Phase-I Preliminary Examination includes English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability for 100 marks. Phase-II Main Examination includes Objective Test for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 30 marks. Phase-III consists of Psychometric Test, Group Exercise and Personal Interview. There is negative marking of one-fourth mark for every incorrect answer in objective tests.

State Bank of India has announced 1500 vacancies for the post of Probationary Officer. The vacancies include 1446 regular vacancies and 54 backlog vacancies distributed among General, EWS, OBC, SC and ST categories. Reservation is also available for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities as per Government norms.

Selection will be conducted through Preliminary Examination, Main Examination, Psychometric Test, Group Exercise and Personal Interview. Marks obtained in Preliminary Examination will not be considered for final merit. Final merit list will be prepared by combining Main Examination and Phase-III scores after normalization.

The starting basic pay is Rs. 48,480 with four advance increments in the pay scale of Rs. 48,480–85,920. Selected officers will be eligible for DA, HRA, CCA, PF, NPS, LFC, Medical Facilities, Lease Rental Facility and other allowances. The approximate annual CTC at Mumbai centre is Rs. 21.97 lakh.

Candidates can apply online only between 18 June 2026 and 08 July 2026. No change of category will be permitted after registration. Candidates should ensure a satisfactory CIBIL record before joining. Selected candidates will have to execute a bond of Rs. 2 lakh to serve the Bank for a minimum period of three years.

Applicants should keep scanned copies of photograph, signature, left thumb impression, handwritten declaration, graduation certificates, category certificate, EWS certificate, disability certificate, identity proof and other supporting documents ready while filling the online application form.
