Candidates must be Indian citizens and must possess the educational and professional qualifications prescribed for the respective School Teacher category. Primary School Teachers (Classes 1-5) require the prescribed Senior Secondary / equivalent qualification along with the applicable elementary education qualification such as D.El.Ed, B.El.Ed or equivalent and the required teacher eligibility qualification. Middle School Teachers (Classes 6-8) require the prescribed graduation / postgraduate qualification in the relevant subject along with the required teacher-training qualification and CTET / BTET as applicable. Secondary School Teachers (Classes 9-10) generally require a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in the concerned subject with the prescribed minimum marks along with B.Ed or equivalent teacher-training qualification and STET Paper-I. Higher Secondary School Teachers (Classes 11-12) generally require a Master's Degree in the concerned subject with the prescribed minimum marks along with B.Ed or equivalent qualification and STET Paper-II. Subject-specific qualifications apply to different teaching posts.

BPSC TRE 4.0 selection will be based on the prescribed Teacher Recruitment Examination. The examination scheme varies according to the level and applicable eligibility test requirements. Candidates are required to appear in the relevant BPSC Teacher Recruitment Examination paper, with Paper-I / Paper-II requirements linked to the teaching level and applicable CTET, BTET or STET qualification. The detailed examination schedule and paper-wise scheme will be followed as prescribed by BPSC.

BPSC has announced a total of 32,388 vacancies under the fourth phase of the School Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE-4.0). The vacancies include 3,847 Primary School Teacher posts for Classes 1-5, 8,563 Middle School Teacher posts for Classes 6-8, 3,877 Secondary School Teacher posts for Classes 9-10 and 16,101 Higher Secondary School Teacher posts for Classes 11-12.

Selection will be based on performance in the BPSC Teacher Recruitment Examination along with fulfillment of the prescribed educational, professional and teacher eligibility requirements. Candidates must qualify the relevant examination and satisfy the subject-wise and category-wise eligibility conditions. Final appointment will be made against the available vacancies after verification of educational qualifications, teacher eligibility certificates, category certificates and other required documents.

The pay scale varies according to the teaching level. Primary School Teachers carry a starting basic pay of ₹25,000 per month plus applicable state government allowances and benefits. Middle School Teachers carry a starting basic pay of ₹28,000 per month plus applicable allowances. Secondary School Teachers carry a starting basic pay of ₹31,000 per month plus applicable allowances. Higher Secondary School Teachers carry a starting basic pay of ₹32,000 per month plus applicable allowances.

Candidates are required to pay an examination fee of ₹100 for the BPSC TRE 4.0 examination. Candidates applying for more than one teaching level may be required to submit separate examination fees for the applicable levels. Additional bank charges may also be applicable during online payment. Candidates who do not provide Aadhaar as an identity document may be required to pay an additional biometric fee of ₹200.

Candidates must complete One Time Registration (OTR) before submitting the online application. The application is to be submitted through the BPSC online portal. Candidates must enter their BSEB Unique ID / STET details wherever applicable and provide CTET / BTET certificate details for Primary and Middle School posts. Applicants must carefully select the teaching level and subject for which they satisfy the prescribed qualification. All educational, professional, teacher eligibility, category and other certificates must be valid and available by the prescribed cut-off date.

Candidates should keep their Matriculation certificate for date-of-birth proof, educational qualification certificates and marksheets, CTET / BTET / STET qualification certificates wherever applicable, B.Ed / D.El.Ed / other teacher-training certificates, C.R.R. certificate where applicable, caste certificate, EWS certificate, domicile certificate, disability certificate, experience certificate where applicable, Aadhaar / valid photo identity proof, recent passport-size photographs and other documents supporting their eligibility and reservation claims ready for verification.
