CPCB Recruitment 2026-Apply for various Post
The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has released Advertisement No. 02/WQM-II/2025-Admin.(R) for recruitment to 51 contractual posts under the Strengthening of Environmental Regulators (SER)-Phase-III Project on River Ganga. The vacancies include Scientist-D, Scientist-C, Scientist-B, Assistant Manager (Finance), Administrative Assistant, Scientific Assistant, Taxonomist, Data Entry Operator and Field Assistant. The project is funded by the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) under the Namami Gange Programme. Eligibility varies by post. Scientist-D requires a First Class Master's in Environmental Science/Natural Science or First Class Bachelor's in specified Engineering/Technology disciplines along with prescribed research/publication/book/technical report credentials and 7 years of relevant experience. Scientist-C requires similar qualifications with prescribed publication/book/report credentials and 5 years of relevant experience. Scientist-B requires a First Class Master's or specified First Class Engineering/Technology degree with a valid GATE score of 90% or above percentile or NET-JRF qualification and 3 years of relevant experience. Assistant Manager (Finance) requires a First Class Master's Degree in Commerce (Finance & Accounting/Taxations), CA or MBA (Finance & Accounting) with 8 years of relevant experience. Administrative Assistant requires a First Class Bachelor's Degree with computer knowledge and 5 years of relevant administrative experience. Scientific Assistant requires the specified First Class Master's/Engineering qualification with valid GATE 90% above percentile or NET-JRF. Taxonomist requires First Class M.Sc. with prescribed desirable qualifications. Data Entry Operator requires First Class Bachelor's Degree in Science/BCA and prescribed computer typing skills. Field Assistant requires 10+2 in Science with minimum 55% marks and knowledge of water/wastewater sampling and sample preservation.

There is no fixed common written examination pattern prescribed for all posts. Selection is through screening and interview. If a large number of applications are received, the Screening/Selection Committee may shortlist candidates on the basis of a written examination, percentage of marks, desirable qualification, relevant experience, higher qualification or any other suitable criteria. Candidates qualifying the screening/document verification are called for interview.

CPCB has advertised 51 contractual vacancies under the Strengthening of Environmental Regulators (SER)-Phase-III Project on River Ganga.
