Candidates must possess B.Sc Nursing (4 years) from an Indian Nursing Council/State Medical Faculty recognized Institute or University, or B.Sc Nursing (Post Basic) (2 years) from an Indian Nursing Council recognized Institute/University and must be registered as Nurse and Midwife in the State/Indian Nursing Council. Alternatively, candidates may possess Diploma in General Nursing Midwifery (GNM) from an Indian Nursing Council recognized Institute/Board/Council and must be registered as Nurse and Midwife in the State/Indian Nursing Council, along with two years of experience in a minimum 50-bedded hospital after acquiring the prescribed educational qualification. Candidates must fulfill the prescribed age and other eligibility conditions by the last date of application.

The Staff Nurse CBT will consist of 100 objective multiple-choice questions carrying 100 marks, with each question carrying 1 mark. The question paper will be bilingual in Hindi and English. The examination syllabus will consist of 80% theoretical knowledge and 20% practical knowledge. There will be a negative marking of 0.25 mark for each incorrect answer, while no marks will be deducted for unanswered questions. Minimum qualifying marks are 40% for General, EWS and OBC candidates and 35% for SC and ST candidates.

GIMS Greater Noida has advertised 100 Staff Nurse vacancies. The vertical reservation distribution is 40 posts for UR, 27 for OBC, 21 for SC, 2 for ST and 10 for EWS. Horizontal reservation includes 20 posts for women, 5 for Ex-Servicemen, 4 for Divyang candidates under OL (One Leg) category and 2 for Dependents of Freedom Fighters.

Selection will be based on merit in the Computer Based Test (CBT), followed by biometric and document verification from the concerned authorities and medical examination. The CBT will be objective type and nursing-related, with 80% questions based on theoretical knowledge and 20% based on practical knowledge. In case of equal marks, the older candidate based on date of birth will receive higher priority.

The notification does not specify the pay scale or salary for the Staff Nurse post.

The application fee is ₹1,298 for Unreserved candidates and ₹1,298 for OBC/EWS candidates, including 18% GST. SC/ST candidates are required to pay ₹944 including GST. Divyang candidates of all categories who are domicile of Uttar Pradesh are exempted from the application fee. Candidates belonging to horizontal reservation categories will pay the fee according to their basic category.

The online application window opens from 10 August 2026 and the last date for application is 7 September 2026. Only online applications are accepted. Candidates must fulfill all educational, experience and age requirements by the last date of application. Only permanent residents/domiciles of Uttar Pradesh are eligible for reserved posts. The examination will be conducted through CBT and the question paper will be available in Hindi and English. Hall tickets will be available for download from the GIMS website and will not be sent by post. Candidates must appear at the allotted examination centre and no change of examination centre will be permitted.

Candidates must provide educational qualification certificates, nursing registration proof, experience certificate where applicable, age proof, category/reservation certificates where applicable, EWS income and asset certificate where applicable, disability certificate where applicable, and other documents required for online application and document verification. Candidates claiming reservation or age relaxation must possess the prescribed certificates issued by the competent authority by the last date of application.
