Candidates must be Indian citizens above 18 years of age. For Junior Engineer (Electrical), candidates must possess a full-time regular Diploma in Electrical / Electrical and Electronics Engineering from a State Technical Board or recognized institution. UR/EWS candidates require at least 70% marks, while SC/ST candidates must have the prescribed minimum passing marks. For Junior Engineer (Mechanical), candidates must possess a full-time regular Diploma in Mechanical / Production Engineering from a State Technical Board or recognized institution. The selection process consists of a written examination comprising an Aptitude Test and a Technical Test. The Aptitude Test contains 60 multiple-choice questions covering General English, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability. The Technical Test contains 40 multiple-choice questions related to the concerned discipline. Each question carries 1 mark and 0.25 mark is deducted for every wrong answer. The qualifying marks are 40% for UR/EWS candidates and 30% for SC/ST candidates in both tests. The total examination duration is 2 hours.

NEEPCO has notified 7 Junior Engineer vacancies in S-1 Grade for its Tripura operations. The vacancies include 3 Junior Engineer (Electrical) posts and 4 Junior Engineer (Mechanical) posts. Selected candidates will undergo two years of training and will be appointed in the IDA pay scale of ₹29,300-3%-₹1,19,700. Monthly emoluments will include basic pay, applicable HRA, 35% cafeteria allowance on basic pay, 10% location based allowance, PF contribution and NEEPCO Employees Defined Contribution Superannuation Scheme contribution. Minimum monthly CTC will be approximately ₹59,000.
