CSIR Assistant Section Officer (ASO) Recruitment 2026 for 100 Posts
Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has released the Assistant Section Officer (ASO) Recruitment 2026 notification for 100 vacancies in General, Finance & Accounts and Stores & Purchase cadres. The recruitment is open exclusively to non-recommended candidates of UPSC Civil Services Examination 2024 listed on the UPSC Pratibha Setu Portal. Selected candidates will receive Pay Level-7 salary under the 7th CPC along with Central Government allowances and benefits. Eligible candidates can apply online from 23 June 2026 to 13 July 2026 through the official CSIR recruitment portal.

The recruitment process includes shortlisting based on UPSC Civil Services Examination 2024 marks followed by a Computer Proficiency Test (CPT). The CPT will be of 100 marks and 1 hour duration and will assess Word Processing, Spreadsheet preparation, PowerPoint presentation and office-related computer skills. The CPT is qualifying in nature and candidates must secure category-wise minimum qualifying marks.

Candidates will first be shortlisted in the ratio of 1:5 based on total marks obtained in UPSC Civil Services Examination 2024 (Mains plus Personality Test). Shortlisted candidates must appear in the Computer Proficiency Test (CPT). Final selection will be based on UPSC CSE 2024 marks subject to qualifying the CPT with the prescribed minimum threshold marks.
