Candidates must have appeared in Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET)-2025 and must have been issued a PET-2025 scorecard. Only candidates possessing the prescribed essential educational qualification and other eligibility conditions for the advertised post can apply. For Livestock Extension Officer, candidates must have passed Intermediate with Biology group from the Board of High School and Intermediate Education, Uttar Pradesh or an examination recognized as equivalent by the Government, and must possess a two-year Livestock Extension Diploma course from a Veterinary University/Veterinary College established by law. Knowledge of Hindi in Devanagari script is also required. The age limit is 21 to 40 years as on 1 July of the relevant calendar year, with applicable relaxation for reserved categories.

The Main Examination will consist of one objective and multiple-choice question paper containing 100 questions for 100 marks with a duration of 2 hours (120 minutes). Each question carries one mark. There is negative marking of 25% of the marks prescribed for the question, i.e. one-fourth mark for each wrong answer. The paper is divided into Part-1 subject-related knowledge, Part-2 computer and information technology knowledge, and Part-3 general information related to Uttar Pradesh.

A total of 1251 Livestock Extension Officer posts are advertised under the Uttar Pradesh Animal Husbandry Department, comprising 1248 posts under the general selection and 3 posts under special selection. The general selection vacancies include 500 Unreserved, 254 Scheduled Caste, 25 Scheduled Tribe, 345 Other Backward Class and 124 Economically Weaker Section posts. The special selection category contains 3 OBC posts.

Selection will be based on the written Main Examination. Candidates for the Main Examination will first be shortlisted on the basis of their normalized PET-2025 score. Category-wise candidates up to 15 times the number of advertised posts, including all candidates holding the normalized score up to the final cutoff, will be shortlisted. The written examination will then form the basis of selection. No interview is mentioned as part of the selection process.

The Livestock Extension Officer post carries Level-5 pay with a minimum pay of Rs.29,200 and maximum pay of Rs.92,300.

Candidates are required to pay only the online application processing fee of Rs.25 at the application stage. The main examination fee will be paid separately only by candidates shortlisted for the Main Examination. The notice states that the prescribed fee can be paid through Credit Card, Debit Card, Internet Banking, UPI or SBI e-Challan.

Applications are invited online from candidates who appeared in PET-2025 and were issued a PET scorecard. The online application and fee payment process starts on 09 September 2026 and the last date for submission and fee payment is 29 September 2026. Reconciliation and correction in the application are allowed up to 06 October 2026. Candidates must use their PET-2025 registration number and OTP for authentication/login. Candidates should regularly check the UPSSSC website for examination date, admit card and other updates.

Candidates should possess the prescribed educational qualification and related certificates by the application deadline. Relevant category/reservation certificates should be obtained in the prescribed format where applicable. EWS candidates must possess the required EWS certificate for the specified financial year. Candidates claiming disability reservation must have the prescribed disability certificate. Government employees should obtain a No Objection Certificate when required. Candidates may be required to produce self-attested copies of marksheets, certificates and degree documents for verification.
